Decades of experience moving families across the country and around the globe have taught us the value of having well-trained people using the best equipment.

That's why Mayflower's professional packers are trained in packing methods which provide maximum protection for your possessions. At their disposal are the industry's finest materials to cushion, cover and protect. Cartons, crates and packing material are selected to prevent damage during the move.

BOXING AND WRAPPING

Mirrors and pictures are bubble-wrapped or paper-wrapped and secured in a carton specially constructed to prevent damage to these fragile items.

Books are placed flat, alternating the spines for extra protection. As with all cartons, book cartons are packed tight to prevent shifting during transit.

Handling lamp shades by the wires protects the shade surface. Lamp shades may be nested to conserve space, and generous amounts of paper provide cushioning.

Dishes are individually wrapped and placed vertically in the carton for safe transport.

In a sturdy wardrobe, each article of clothing is suspended on its own hanger so your family's clothing arrives at your new home as clean and wrinkle-free as when packed.

PAD WRAPPING

High value and fragile items such as computers, televisions or appliances may be pad-wrapped for extra safety.

Pad wrapping is one way we prevent scratches on furniture with wood surfaces.

Large appliances are pad-wrapped with specially designed pads and moved on dollies.

Upholstered furniture is covered to keep it clean and free of damage. Cushions are individually wrapped.

CRATING

Some of your belongings have unique needs, so Mayflower provides custom crating. Our crates are built to the precise specifications of each item for maximum protection.

Large fragile items such as chandeliers are crated and doubly protected with packing materials.

Art and antiques are protected in paper or other appropriated packing material before crating.

Large, fragile items such as grandfather clocks are moved in our custom-built crates.
